01 — How it started

We aren’t called Generations for fun, we’re a mother daughter duo with over 55 years experience. Our business started with Dee Ralston (Susan’s Dad, Sara’s Grandfather)  owning and running Ralston’s Barber Shop. Susan joined him in 1990 and the Barber shop became Ralston’s Barber and Beauty Shop. In 2005, Susan and Sara relocated to the current location and renamed the business Generations Salon.

02 — Meet Susan

Susan attended Stacey’s Hand’s  of Champions Beauty School in Ogden Utah in 1986. She worked as an instructor there for 3 years before moving to Idaho to work with her Dad and now her daughter. She loves learning new techniques and thoroughly enjoys advanced education. She believes  people may come to a salon to look great, but she makes them feel great. Susan loves the connections she makes with clients. They may come in as a client, but when they leave they’re her friend.

03 — Meet Sara

Sara attended ISU Cosmetology school in 2000, and within a year of graduating opened Generations Salon with her mom, Susan. Sara has been coaching new stylists since 2005 and absolutely loves watching them grow and succeed in this industry. Sara took her first Balayage class in 2012 and fell in love with hair painting. She has been working on perfecting her Balayage and unique color techniques ever since. Sara loves haircutting, and specializes in dry cutting, razor cuts, and pixies. Sara is a certified Invisible Bead Extension artist and is amazed by the transformations that take place with hair extensions.

04 — Our goal

Our salon prides itself on providing the newest trends in our industry. Our vision is to create the ultimate YOU in a fun, unique atmosphere, where everyone feels like they’re a part of something special.
