01 — How it started

We aren't called Generations just for fun; we're truly a multi-generational family business with more than 55 years of combined experience.

Our story began with Dee Ralston, Susan's father and Sara's grandfather, who founded and operated Ralston's Barber Shop. In 1990, Susan joined the business, expanding its services and transforming it into Ralston's Barber & Beauty Shop.

In 2005, Susan and Sara relocated to our current business park and rebranded the salon as Generations Salon, a name that reflects the family's passion for the beauty industry and the generations who have helped shape it.

As the salon continued to grow, 2023 marked another exciting milestone with a move to our beautiful new location. During this transition, Susan stepped back from ownership, welcoming Natasha as her successor. Today, Natasha and Sara proudly continue the Generations legacy, honoring the family's tradition while bringing fresh ideas and exceptional service to every guest who walks through our doors.

02 — Meet Sara

Sara attended ISU Cosmetology school in 2000, and within a year of graduating opened Generations Salon with her mom, Susan. Sara has been coaching new stylists since 2005 and absolutely loves watching them grow and succeed in this industry. Sara took her first Balayage class in 2012 and fell in love with hair painting. She has been working on perfecting her Balayage and unique color techniques ever since. Sara loves haircutting and specializes in dry cutting, razor cuts, and pixies. Sara is a certified Invisible Bead Extension artist and is amazed by the transformations that take place with hair extensions.

03 — Meet Natasha

Tasha has been doing hair for 5 years after attending Vogue Cosmetology School. She began her career by assisting Sara for a year at Generations Salon before stepping out on her own to continue growing her clientele and career behind the chair.

Tasha stepped into the world of extensions to help meet the growing demand at the salon and quickly fell in love with the transformations they can create. She specializes in extensions, color, and cuts and is a certified Invisible Bead Extensions artist. Tasha loves seeing how the right hair transformation can completely change the way a client feels about themselves.

Outside of the salon, Tasha is a proud mom to her 1-year-old son and enjoys navigating parenthood alongside her husband of 8 years.
